This Friday March
27th at Bellator 135 a man will receive a second chance; something
that doesn’t come easily or often. That man is Long Island MMA fighter Marcos “Loro”
Galvao. Having been robbed of the bantamweight title back in 2011 after an
extremely controversial decision loss to the current champion Joe Warren, he is
back and he is prepared to capture that which is rightfully his. Their first
meeting consisted of an extremely entertaining combination of crowd pleasing
exchanges as well as aggressive grappling and clinch work. Surely to the surprise
of the current champion and his following, Loro was able to best the man at his
own game taking Warren down from within the clinch.
Having taken
Warren down Loro was able to apply his greatest strength, his Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu. He was able to take the back of Warren and land several devastating strikes.
The striking game was not much better for him. Joe Warren used consistent
forward pressure and aggressive striking however, he was walking right into the
skilled counter striking of Loro, counter-striking that was both effective and
creative; as in several flying knees! The fact that the judges gave the
decision to Joe Warren was a travesty. Now it is 2015, four years later. Four
years of hard training to destroy the man that has been wearing the belt stolen
from him. Marcos Galvao is on the war path and Joe Warren had better hope that
he has improved significantly since their first meeting or we can all expect to
see Marcos “Loro” Galvao reign
victorious AGAIN.
